Ok so hear me out here. Psychology journals were trying hard to make people release their data for submitted papers. Some had the idea of marking papers with released data with (meaningless) badges on top. This alone made like 50% more people release their data. Sooo I think it could REALLY incentivize posting if you put some sort of marker, badge, or verified check mark for a) first expression of a song, b) most-liked expression, and c) "artist's pick" where an artist can choose their favorite expression of a song. I think these would improve engagement to a large extent. And the last one would definitely get more artists involved

I really like this idea!
We could have a part of the user profile called "My Badges" that stores the list of badges one has obtained. Since we might have a lot of badges, we can let the user choose the top 3-5 to display a the top of their profile...
Here's a few badges I can think of broken down by type of badge:
BASIC BADGES - Awarded to new users still leaning the app for achieving easy/basic targets.
- "Profile Setup" - Earned once user has added a photo & bio/description
- "First Expression" - Earned once first expression is created.
- "Daily Expresser" - Earned when user posts an expression every day for a week/month ect.
- "Discover" - Earned once the random music generator is used the first time.
- "Re-expressor" - Earned after the first time user re-expresses a song.
- Badge for following 10 people.
- Badge for logging into each streaming service.
- "First Token Used" - Earned when user purchases and uses their first token. this will require our payment/tipping system to be deployed
- "Share to Facebook" - Earned when you share an expression to FB. requires we build out FB integration
- "Linked Accounts" - Earned when you link your FB account to your Grey Matter account. requires we build out FB integration
ACHIEVEMENT BADGES- Awarded to more active users for completing harder-to-reach goal that require consistent usage.
- "100 Expressions" - Earned once user has created 100/500/1000 (ect) expressions.
- "First to Express" - Earned when you're the first person to express a song.
- Badge for being followed by 100/1000 ect users
- Badge for receiving 100/1000 likes on your expressions.
- Badge for inviting 1/10/100 new users to Grey Matter.
- Badge for number of hours of music played in GM app (1hr/10hr/100hr)
- Badge for suggesting new feature(s)
- "Top Tipper/Big Spender" ect - Badges related to token purchases/token usage.. this will require our payment/tipping system to be deployed
AWARD BADGES:
- GreyMatter CEO/team member badges.
- Verified individual/artist badge.
- "Top Commenter" - Earned once comments from a user are liked x number or times/ect. this will require ability to like comments
- "Trendsetter" - Earned when a users expression gets in the top ten of global trends. this will require we have a trending feed

Matt (Grey Matter): Yeah bro I think profile setup should just be as % done bar, the rest idk. Followers definitely, and things like first expresser can just be slapped on the expression. Love the trendsetter idea and also rewarding people with a badge for tipping artists
